The shark (Carcharhinus albimarginatus), pictured here is called both the Silver Tip Shark and the Silvertip Reef Shark. It grows to be almost 10 feet (300 cm) long and is fast and aggressive. Found near islands as well as off shore, it is big enough to take large prey and divers usually avoid it.
